Even though the interview was originally for a data engineer role, project management turned out to be a much better fit. Working with founders on new ideas and startups has become a genuinely inspiring part of my work.
After wrapping up a successful collaboration with IDC CEMA, I tried my luck in the land of kangaroos and giant spiders. The last major trip across half the world took me through vast and colorful Asia. Despite the indescribable chaos of Pakistan, I had the chance to see K2, the second-highest mountain in the world. Australia, for many a promised land, taught me not only surfing and farm work but also the patience you need if you want to stay competitive. In the end, it also reminded me of my own cultural roots and how proud I am of them.
Digital nomad life was the biggest opportunity in those unfortunate covid years. That enormous freedom stood in wild contrast to the lockdowns back in the Czech Republic. It was an era full of adventure and great people. I met the widest range of people imaginable, from nomads surviving on handmade bracelet sales to aspiring founders and academics. I slept under a bridge, in the Costa Rican jungle, and in rented villas with pools and ocean views. It is honestly a bit of a miracle that the laptop I built everything on survived it all.
A student's dream. An established company offering opportunities even to complete newcomers, with German as a major advantage. I worked across software development as well as international marketing. Modern business concepts around telematics data processing gave the internship both perspective and a topic for my diploma thesis.
